Creative Partnerships and The Lowry Creativity Festival
This is an annual, week-long festival of workshops, performances, professional development opportunities and creative career courses for school children. Part of the festival involves Salford primary schools, each partnered with an artist in residence in the performing or visual arts.
In 2006, three schools worked with visual artists to create an exhibition and three worked with actors and dancers to produce original performance pieces, showcased in The Studio over two days during the festival.

Each year we aim to make the festival bigger and better, working with more schools, more artists and more partners to put the Salford festival on the map! This year's festival took place from 2 - 6 July 2007. Look out for more details of the 2008 festival coming soon.
This is what some parents said about their children’s experience of being part of the festival:
“It has built his confidence and given him an idea of what is needed to work as a team to get things done. It also breaks down their natural inhibitions.”
“By learning different art forms it helps develop confidence and helps them gain a feeling of achievement. Children have a lot of pressure in schools today and it helps to balance their day and helps them to express themselves”.
