The Lowry has commissioned a series of works designed to bring extra life and fun to the foyer and public spaces of the building.

Outside In - Spring 2005

A flock of animated birds suddenly appeared one night and took over various positions in and around the building, causing mayhem and generally making visitors look up and laugh.

Outside In was created by Whalley Range All Stars.

Fleet

As part of The Art of White exhibiton from 2005, Fevered Sleep, creators of site-specific theatre and installation, created a fleet of floating paper boats which were suspended in the foyer and over the heads of visitors.

Inspired by the rich nautical history of Salford Quays, Fleet took visitors on a journey via a commentary and music from a headset.

Spacecadets: Greenhouse

An installation of giant inflatable plants and flowers, creating a stunning display of oversized exotic plant life. Created by artists Spacecadets, Greenhouse is making visitors smile throughout 2008.
