Opinions Service Enquiries
You are welcome to contact The Lowry's Curator: Collections and Access if you wish to investigate the authenticity of a picture you think may be by L S Lowry. The opinion service is offered monthly when a panel (consisting of the Curator and other L S Lowry experts) meets. We ask owners of pictures to write in beforehand, giving details of its history and providing a photograph. Pictures are normally seen on the day of the panel meeting, by arrangement.
We encourage owners of pictures to achieve a balance of opinion by seeking views of other organisations with long standing experience of L S Lowry's work. The Curator can also provide contact details of these organisations. Please note valuations are not given.
The Curator is also pleased to receive details of any L S Lowry work in private ownership so that The Lowry can continue the task of cataloguing the artist's total output.
