‘Dance: Sampled’ is a celebration of dance in all its forms, showcasing the very best of international dance talent from Argentina, Cuba, Holland, Spain and the UK in enticing bitesize performances as The Lowry comes alive with dance.

Carlos Pons Guerra: 'Paradis' 
Inspired by Jean Genet’s provocative play, ‘The Maids’, and performed by Northern Ballet dancers, Carlos toys with gender and performance as he delves into the darker side of femininity and power in this dark comedic ballet.

Claudio Gonzalez y Julia Urruty
These former Argentinian world champion tango dancers bring the passion and sensuality of Argentina in a breathtakingly stunning and passionate tango.

Connor Scott
Winner of the BBC Young Dancer of the Year 2015, Connor rose to national recognition as a bright new talent in choreography. Connor presents a new piece of work exploring loneliness, nostalgia and joy.

 

dotdotdot: ‘I Come to my Body as a Question’
These three young British dancers are the new generation of flamenco dancing. The trio explore who we are and the cultures that shape us in this entrancing stripped-down flamenco.

The Ruggeds: ‘Adrenaline’
A solid name in the b-boy game and 2015 World Champions. Their performances are filled with acrobatics, risks, music and energy as they push their physical limits and unlock our adrenaline.

Dance: Sampled is part of The Movement, a dance producing partnership between Birmingham Hippodrome, The Lowry and Sadler’s Wells. Supported by Arts Council England, The Movement aims to nurture talent and bring large scale dance productions to even wider audiences.
