Opera North
La Voix Humaine
Fri 10 November
This event has passed.
La voix humaine is short in length, but not on emotional impact. Through the lone voice of a woman trying to win back her lover during a desperate telephone conversation, Poulenc expresses all the pain and fear of rejection in the rawest fashion, while enveloping her voice in music of caressing warmth and sensuality.
Sung by Joan Rodgers, this promises to be one of the highlights of the operatic year.
Conductor – Paul Watkins
Director – Deborah Warner
Sung in English and in French with English titles.
