Madama Butterfly
See Opera North's online clip with music and images here .

Puccini’s touching story of innocent love betrayed amidst the mutual incomprehension of two utterly different cultures resonates as strongly as ever in today’s world. The poignant score includes such universally popular music as the rapturous love duet, the Humming Chorus and Butterfly’s aria Un bel di (One Fine Day).

Beauty combined with realism intensifies the emotion in Opera North’s new production of an already heartbreaking opera.

Sung in Italian with English titles.
