An emotional journey of heartbreaking proportions...

The Australian Ballet makes its debut at The Lowry with Graeme Murphy's magnificent production of Swan Lake, which arrives direct from Paris having already thrilled audiences in Tokyo, London and Shanghai. Set to Tchaikovsky's immortal music, it's a spectacular and moving show full of drama, wit and passion, set in a dazzling landscape of royal palaces and frozen lakes.

The Australian Ballet continues to hold its place among the world's leading ballet companies, giving regular seasons at the Sydney Opera House and as well as touring internationally. With Swan Lake, the company's partnership with Australia's leading choreographer, Graeme Murphy, has created a masterpiece that has sold out more than 150 performances since its première in 2002. Featuring more than 70 dancers, ravishing sets and costumes, as well as the superb orchestral forces of the BBC Philharmonic, this is a Swan Lake to linger long in the memory.
