Shunned on christening day, wicked fairy Carabosse casts a deadly curse on baby Princess Aurora. But the Lilac Fairy tempers that curse, so that, years later, when it begins to take hold, the Princess doesn’t die but instead falls into a deep sleep. Year after year the palace rests, until the handsome prince, hunting in the forest 100 years later, shows how a curse can become a charm…
With Tchaikovsky’s wonderful score, classical choreography by Marius Petipa, production by Sir Peter Wright and a romantic finale packed with fairytale cameos, BRB’s brilliantly spectacular
The Sleeping Beauty is as engaging now as when she first fell asleep, over a hundred years ago.
