Art & Design Secondary School Workshop: Industrial Landscape
Investigate the ever changing landscape around The Lowry through drawing and painting. Take inspiration from the wide variety of architecture in Salford Quays as well as the Manchester Ship Canal, and contrast it with the landscapes that Lowry painted.
Work with our artists to create your own landscape using a variety of materials including, chalks, ink and paint.

Key Questions
What is the main land uses in our local area? How can we record land use? Can we make geographical statements about our locality? How can we present our findings? What is the importance of the local canal?
Learning Objectives
To ask geographical questions. To observe, collect and record evidence. To analyse evidence and draw conclusions. To recognize and explain patterns of physical and human features. To develop ideas for industrial history study.
Learning Outcomes
To gather appropriate evidence to support their ideas. To talk about places using geographical vocabulary. To interpret and analyse the evidence collected. To develop information gathering skills.
For up to 35 pupils
10am-12pm, 1–3pm, 4pm - 6pm or weekends.
Full day workshops are also available, 10am - 3pm.
Cost £100 (£80 for Salford schools).
