Birmingham Royal Ballet weaves its sparkling magic with this new version of the fairytale classic on its world première tour.

Neglected and mistreated by her stepmother and sisters, Cinderella's life is one of drudgery and hardship until the evening of a wonderful ball at the palace when her Fairy Godmother appears to cast a spell that will change her life forever. Transformed into a beautiful princess, Cinderella dances the night away in the arms of a handsome prince, before the clock chimes midnight and then the true story beings.

Birmingham Royal Ballet's Director David Bintley choreographs this spellbinding new family production, whilst John Macfarlane, designer of The Nutcracker (The Lowry, 2001), conjures up a magical world to bring this much-loved fairytale to life.

Supported (2010) by a generous donation from David Lloyd and the estate of the late Lynne Groom. Additional support (2010) from Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre Trust, Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Directors Appeal and The Clock is Ticking campaign, and The Big Give.

‘A spellbinding evening is guaranteed.’ The Sunday Telegraph
