Cosi fan tutte
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

'the production, eloquently conducted by Jac van Steen, continues to provide a platform for new generations of talent...resplendent.' **** The Guardian
'It’s a real ensemble effort, with Máire Flavin’s peachily sung Fiordiligi the pick of the bunch.' **** The Times
It starts with a casual bet. The wily old cynic Don Alfonso wagers that the fiancees of two young men, complacent in their romantic notions of love, won't stay faithful for a minute if put to the test. It sounds harmless enough and, anyway, the lovers are entirely sure of themselves. But cruelty is inherent in this game of love and chance.
It's difficult to think of an opera that contains more music of sheer beauty than Cosi fan tutte - or has a libretto that is more unsettling.
Desire, loyalty and truthfulness in relationships are explored through some of Mozart’s most beautiful music, in an accliamed production by Tim Albery.
'Go to this production: there are lots of good Cosis, but this is in a class apart.' The Spectator
