Winner of Manchester Theatre Award's
'Best Visiting Production' 2015

After a smash-hit run across the UK, Manchester's 'Best Visiting Production' returns to the stage to end its first UK tour. Over 35,000 people saw the show during its three-week run at Christmas and now those that missed out have a second chance to catch this multi-Olivier Award-winning production.

Stockport born playwright, Simon Stephens: “I am thrilled that the Manchester Theatre Awards has recognised Curious Incident in this way. It was particularly special for me that the play opened in the North West, where both Marianne Elliott and myself grew up – and fitting that the magnificent Lowry in Salford is where the show will complete its tour.”

On receiving the MTA award, Bunny said: “It was an absolute pleasure to open the nationwide tour of Curious Incident at The Lowry.  The staff and the support we had there was fantastic and the audience reaction to this story about a boy, his family, love, bravery and difference was incredible.”

Named as Time Magazine's top theatrical experience of the year for 2014 and winner of seven 2013 Olivier Awards.

Christopher, fifteen years old, has an extraordinary brain – exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion of killing Mrs Shears' dog, it takes him on a journey that upturns his world…

Based on the award-winning novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens and directed by Marianne Elliott, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a thrilling new stage play from the National Theatre.

The show has a guidance age of 11+.

There is some strong language in this production, as there is in the novel. This occurs at the very beginning of the show and infrequently at other points during the show. We can provide a copy of the full script should you wish to have more information.
