Since its inception in 2003, Salford has been a festival with a strong regional voice, rooted deep in the local community.

Offering a heady mix of British `kitchen sink’ classics, international cinema with a local connection, and premieres of new work filmed in and around the region, the Festival is dedicated to promoting and raising the profile of Salford as an area of creative excellence in filmmaking, and as a breeding-ground for some of the world’s great talent, past, present and to come.

Celebrating the city's cinematic history and thriving contemporary talent, it’s a festival for the people of Salford, by the people of Salford, starring the people of Salford.

Salford Film Festival screenings and events are virtually all free. However, we are aware that people may wish to reserve tickets in advance, rather than risk disappointment on the day.
