Artist Submissions

We are happy to consider proposals from professional artists who are interested in exhibiting their work.

Guidelines for submitting an exhibition proposal

Before submitting a proposal we recommend that you take time to research our temporary exhibition programme. Whenever possible our temporary exhibition programme:

• Seeks to place LS Lowry and the many themes of his work in the context of contemporary artists.
• Draws links between the performing and visual arts.
• Focuses on photography, the unique architecture of our building and our location beside the Manchester Ship Canal.

How to apply

If you would like to submit a proposal for consideration you will need to provide the following:

• A written statement outlining the work you would like to show and why you feel it is appropriate to The Lowry.
• A current CV including relevant education, training and exhibition history.
• At least 4 high quality images which help illustrate your practice.

Please clearly mark on the envelope Exhibition Proposal and send to the Galleries Exhibition Programmer, The Lowry, Pier 8, Salford Quays, M50 3AZ.

Please note that due to the number of enquiries we receive it may take us a while to consider and respond to your proposal.

Why we need your support

The Lowry is a registered charity and only receives 15% of its income through public funding. For every £1 of public funding that we receive, we must raise a further £7 in order to support our valuable work in our theatres, galleries and within the local community.
