The LS Lowry Archive

The LS Lowry archive at The Lowry includes a wide range of material of interest to scholars and members of the public alike. The archive, compiled largely by Salford Museum and Art Gallery, includes:

• a comprehensive collection of exhibition catalogues for exhibitions held both during Lowry’s lifetime and subsequently (including exhibitions at The Lowry)

• press cuttings relating to the artist

• audio and video material including interviews with people who knew Lowry well as well as with the artist himself

• letters to and from LS Lowry

• photographs

• ephemera (including paint brushes, palette knives belonging to LS Lowry)

• auction catalogues

• books about LS Lowry

• information on works by LS Lowry in the collection at The Lowry and elsewhere.
