Cold Feet - Love at The Lowry
Love is in the air on Sunday (5th Dec) when Rachel (Helen Baxendale) proposes to Adam (James Nesbitt) in The Lowry’s Galleries where this week’s episode of Granada TV’s Cold Feet was filmed.
Although Adam proposed to Rachel in the previous episode, they had decided to put it on hold and see how things went. However Rachel realises that she wants to marry Adam more than anything and asks him to marry her at Brodie’s exhibition opening.
Brodie (Richard Dillane) is Karen’s ex-boyfriend, a travel photographer who’s showing his latest work at The Lowry. Brodie and Karen encourage Jenny to help them organise the exhibition. Jenny takes over much to Karen’s annoyance and Robert is also put out that she’s so caught up in the planning. Karen refuses to go to the exhibition opening due to Jenny’s behaviour leaving David to go alone. However, Jenny goes round to Karen’s to apologise and they go together, arriving too late to see David with Jessica.
Filming at The Lowry, which involved all the cast and re-hanging pictures in the galleries took place over two days in July. There was also a convoy of several trucks, including catering, technical and lighting vans plus trucks with actors’ and extras dressing rooms. The Lowry is fast becoming a favourite location for film-makers and photographers from all over the country.
A £105.9 million project, The Lowry itself attracted £68.9 million from the National Lottery with unique partnership funding by The Arts Council of England (£44.6m), The Millennium Commission (£15.65m) and The Heritage Lottery Fund (£8.65m).
