The Lowry Gift Shop Wins Design Award

Designers' Northcross picked up a highly coveted Roses Design Award in Manchester last night, for their retail design of the shop within The Lowry, the highly acclaimed arts complex on Salford Quays.

The award, sponsored by Pilkington, was for the Best Public Interior, and John Sorrell CBE chaired the judging panel. The award winning design utilised the full 5m height of the space and provided a fresh, contemporary environment which resulted in the retail experience being a fully integrated part of the visit to The Lowry, reflected The Lowry thematically and from a quality perspective.

Julia Fawcett, The Lowry's Chief Executive commented: "Northcross provided an excellent service and exceeded our expectations in transforming the space, creating an exciting new look for the shop. Our visitors are also delighted, customers have increased and spends per head have tripled since it re-opened in July this year. We're thrilled that this achievement has been formally recognized by the industry."

Run by The Marketeer in association with The Liverpool & Manchester Design Initiative, the awards recognize the achievements of designers across the UK excluding those based within the M25 boundary. Stemming from The Roses Creative Awards, which primarily included advertising, the Roses Design Awards provides designers with their very own platform from which to showcase their work.
