Aladdin officially the best selling show ever at The Lowry!
The Lowry is delighted to announce record sales for its pantomime Aladdin, selling over 50,000 tickets, more than any other theatre event in the history of the venue.
Aladdin has beaten box office sales figures for last years pantomime, Cinderella, by 10% year on year, whilst still only half way through its four-week run. But best of all, there are still tickets left to see the show, which finishes on 7 January.
The Lowrys Marketing Director, Alan MacGregor, comments:
Were absolutely delighted at achieving this show record as well as year on year growth in pantomime sales. The Lowrys pantomimes, created in association with Pele Productions have gone from strength to strength, increasing in popularity every year. This year we believe that Bill Ward, the actor who plays Charlie Stubbs in The Street has helped to be a big draw.
Aladdins all star cast has gone down a storm with the audience. The Lowrys customer services team has received a number of emails from members of the public, commenting on how much they enjoyed the show.
The Manchester Evening News concluded their review with The audience had a ball and this pop musical version of Aladdin had some of them dancing on their feet at the end.
The Lowry has already taken bookings for next years pantomime, Dick Whittington when the venue once again joins forces with Pele Productions to produce another festive treat.
Tickets for Aladdin and Dick Whittington are available on 0870 787 5793 and online bookings via www.thelowry.com
