Lowry’s Travels
Take a visual trip around the places in Great Britain that Lowry chose to paint and draw. The locations are often surprising: scenes from the south coast and London, to Wales and Scotland, dispel the myth that he never ventured further than the mill towns of the industrial north west. Lowry’s Travels is a Lowry touring exhibition that goes to Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens.

18 January - 30 March 2003
Look North: Scottish Art 1750 - 2000 from The Royal Bank of Scotland Group Art Collection
A remarkable collection of works of art by Scottish painters including stunning historical portraits, landscapes of coast and glen, urban views of Edinburgh and still lifes by the Scottish Colourists. Supported by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group

25 January - 6 April 2003
Grace Robertson: A Sympathetic Eye
Grace Robertson’s achievements as a photojournalist are revealed in heart-warming photographs of everyday life and everyday people from the 1940s to the present day. A touring exhibition from The University of Brighton

Uncertain Instruments by David Kemp: Apparatus from a Nearly Parallel World
The creator of Brian's Brain returns to ArtWorks a new display of amazing sculptures. David Kemp uses things people throw away - bits of pianos, birdcages, Wellington boots, junked computers and plastic frogs to create strange, magical constructions that explore new and old technologies and inspire bizarre stories. At weekends and school holidays there are fun filled activities for all the family. A touring exhibition from Newlyn Art Gallery
