Manchester Airports Group supports The Lowry on its fourth birthday
Manchester Airports Group (MAG) continues to show its commitment to The Lowry by supporting its stunning Spring season of contemporary dance with an international flavour as the venue approaches its fourth birthday in April 2004.
MAG is sponsoring the following spectacular dance productions: Play Without Words (13 - 17 April) hailed as one of British theatre's all-time great dance works, New Zealand Ballet's British premiere of Romeo and Juliet in a first time visit to The Lowry (21 - 24 April), with the sponsorship culminating on The Lowry's fourth birthday with the sensational Dance Theatre of Harlem (28 - 30 April) who won the Manchester Evening News Award for Best Dance in 2002.
Sue Jones, MAG's Arts Sponsorship Manager commented: "We are delighted to be involved in this wonderful dance season of national and international productions which reflects the airport's international outlook as we continue to expand our business. We're particularly keen to be involved in The Lowry's Community & Education programme of complementary events with various schools workshops, pre and post show Talkshops. The popular dance workshops provide wonderful opportunities for aspiring dancers to experience the style, technique and choreography of exceptional dance companies."
Robert Robson, The Lowry's Artistic director, commented: "We're thrilled at MAG's support of our popular dance programme which all helps to maintain our profile as the most significant UK arts venue outside London. April 2004 sees The Lowry become four years old when we'll be celebrating the success of our original mission to present some of the highest quality productions in the world. We are extremely proud to have developed a programme in our theatres and galleries, that is high quality, dynamic, ambitious, international in outlook and culturally diverse." MAG benefits from title sponsorship, branding opportunities, merchandising and hospitality for their staff and clients (all year round) at The Lowry, the award-winning performing and visual arts complex on Salford Quays.
