A new facility for Press - The Lowry Digital Image Library

The Lowry is delighted to announce a new resource for picture editors - a digital image library website, www.thelowryimages.com, offering a large selection of the most up-to-date and high-resolution images in AdobeRGB format.

The Lowry tries to ensure that all images on the site have a resolution of 300dpi at A4 but if an image is unable to meet that spec, the dimensions for all images are clearly marked so picture editors can assess whether the image is suitable for their publication.

The images are supplied as compressed jpeg files to reduce download times, and wherever possible these files are compressed to around 1.5Mb or less, corresponding to about a 25Mb scan size.

This new facility features a range of images including the building, theatre events and exhibitions, key personnel and replaces our account at www.picturesforpress.co.uk.

New users will need to re-register with the new service - using the Registration Key 'water' (lower case only). It hasn't been possible to reinstate passwords from the old system (picturesforpress) but the new site will immediately e-mail users with a new random password, which is changeable once logged in.

Registered users will then have access to images via the login page.

If you would like further advice about registering for the new system, please take a moment to visit the site now, where you will find a help section, or contact The Lowry’s Press Team on 0161 876 2024/2044/2037.
