A song and dance delight that includes the show-stopping Lambeth Walk. This is the first time this great revamped 1930s musical will be staged in the round. Produced by the National Theatre, Connections is one of the world’s largest celebrations of Youth Theatre. In partnership with Shell UK, Connections commissions new, hour-long plays, for and about young people written by some of the best contemporary playwrights. Working in partnership with 15 other regional theatres, Shell Connections encourages the participation of schools and youth theatres from all over the UK and Ireland. The Lowry is supporting the work of groups in this area and hosting the regional festival. 1 Night of Shakespeare
Sun 3 July 100 theatres, 400 schools, 10,000 performers! The Lowry and four local schools are part of a unique event across the UK as 400 schools perform abridged Shakespeare plays simultaneously in 100 theatres.

The Nelson Project - I See No Ships

An integrated arts project, involving primary schools throughout Salford. The performances that form the culmination of the project will celebrate the life, loves and battles of Horatio Nelson in a series of stories told through songs, drama and dance. Organised by Salford Music and Performing Arts Service, dedicated to maximising the potential of young people in the city.
