The Lowry is first choice for TV programmes this week – from politics with Jeremy Vine to ITV’s ‘Art Idol’ competition featuring Toyah Wilcox & John Stapleton.

BBC politics show will be broadcast live from The Lowry on Sunday 17 July 2005 at midday where Jeremy Vine will be presenting, reporting and interviewing on the programme for the last time!

The Lowry, a catalyst in the economic regeneration of The Quays is the ideal location for this week’s show which focuses on the subject of regeneration. The programme will also look at the Muslim Community’s reaction to last week’s attacks on London.

The North West link into the programme will also be broadcast live from The Lowry, with two diverse strands – ‘what the North West region means to people’ and hill farmers in the Lakes and the peak district.

THE LOWRY HOSTS ITV’s A BRUSH WITH FAME STARRING TOYAH WILCOX & JOHN STAPLETON
 19 & 20 JULY
The Lowry is hosting one of the regional heats for ITV’s A Brush with Fame, a brand new ‘pop idol’ style programme, where members of the public compete to paint the most impressive portrait of a celebrity. At The Lowry the celebrities are Toyah Wilcox and John Stapleton who will be posing in dramatic costumes while contestants line up with their brushes. The winner will scoop a cash prize, a contract with the UK’s leading Art Publishers, Washington Green and appear on the final programme, presented by Carol Smillie.
