Dance at The Lowry, Salford Quays May - August 2006

Every month during the summer, The Lowry plays host to some of the world’s finest dance companies, from the sharpest, cutting edge contemporary dance to traditional South Asian folk dance.

Following the success of last seasons Sleeping Beauty, Birmingham Royal Ballet return with another timeless family favourite in La Fille mal gardée, choreographed by one of the greatest choreographers of the 20th century, Frederick Ashton. Also returning to Salford Quays from Brazil, after a successful visit with Rota, is Companhia de Danca Deborah Colker with new piece No (Knot) which utilises 120 ropes and knots in an exhilarating new performance. Compagnie Pal Frenak, an exciting European contemporary dance company with bases in Paris and Budapest, present the UK Premiere of Boys/Girls as part of the Queerupnorth International Festival.
