Family Shows at The Lowry, Salford Quays May - August 2006
Parents and children alike will be kept entertained with a summer season of shows at The Lowry featuring some of the most exciting new productions, famous names and timeless stories brought to life on stage. The Studio theatre in particular is home to some innovative fantasy theatre with weekend performances of The Singing Storycloth, Elmer The Elephant and Three Billy Goats Gruff.
Making a leap from the television screen to the stage are the Fimbles, who appear in their first ever live show promising a colourful adventure full of music, song, dance and games. The classic tale of Stuart Little, the mouse who lives with a family of humans and Snowbell the Cat, becomes a brand new children’s play using puppetry, music and a little magic to tell the story of his oversized adventures in New York. The Birmingham Stage Company return with Kensuke’s Kingdom, a new production written by former Children’s Laureate Michael Morpugo, which follows a young boy lost at sea and washed up on a Pacific Island.
