The award winning choreographer, Maresa von Stockert, presents an imaginative new dance theatre work Marjories World Unhinged at The Lowry on Tuesday 23 January. Revealing what could happen if instead of our pets we took our imagination for a walk and let it off the lead, the visually striking and thought provoking Marjories World Unhinged lets the audience steal a look behind velvet curtains at a beautifully grotesque world.

Maresa von Stockert entwines the stories of six very different characters, each of them looking for their own way of escaping reality, be it by dreaming of floating into the clouds hanging onto a helium balloon or flying away on the back of a moth. Characters ranging from aging ballerinas to factory workers and would be circus stars, is brought to life by Tilted Productions multigenerational company of six outstanding performers.

Maresa von Stockert set up Tilted Productions in London in 1999, a company dedicated to creating high quality dance theatre that is entertaining as well as thought-provoking and innovative. The work combines visually striking imagery, original theatrical concepts and virtuosic dance. Tilteds trademarks include the unique use of set and props, dark humour and social comment exposing instincts, fears and desires. The ironic and grotesque, the subtle and vulnerable in human behaviour; these are the inspirational starting points for the work of Tilted Productions.

In 2005 the company toured More Grim[m] Desires, a 75 minute stage piece that visited The Lowry and Winner of the 2005 Time Out Live Award for Outstanding Choreography.
