Based upon Kenneth Grahames timeless classic of four woodland friends, Will Tucketts The Wind in the Willows brings together a team of unique talents to re-tell the adventures of Mole, Ratty, Badger and the hapless Toad through dance, song, verse, music and puppetry. The critically acclaimed show comes direct from The Royal Opera House to The Lowry from Wed 31 January Sat 3 February.

From a dusty old attic a wonderful tale unfolds. The serenity of the river bank is rocked by a speeding car, a galloping caravan, a racing train and criminal deeds cooked up in the depths of the Wild Wood. Through Tucketts choreography with a narrative from Poet Laureate, Andrew Motion, the audience is invited to share in the experience as The Lowrys Quays Theatre becomes the magical setting of the story.

Guided by narrator Michele Wade, this production captures all the darkness and delight of this enchanting tale, bringing to life the eccentricities and peculiarities of Grahames characters in a beautifully realized theatrical experience. The Wind in the Willows promises to entertain and charm audiences whether they are aged 5 or 105!

After her performance as the Fox in The Royal Opera Houses production of Pinocchio, Charlotte Broom, formerly of Northern Ballet Theatre, returns to The Lowry a year later as Mole. Nikolas Kafetzakis demonstrates stage skills acquired from dance schools in both Manchester and Liverpool as Ratty. Luke Heydon (Chief Weasel) and Tom Sapsford (Stoat) also return to familiar territory having appeared as Gepetto and the Cat in Pinocchio. They are joined by Richard Curto as Badger and Ewan Wardrop as Toad.
