Hull Truck Theatre hits the road to The Lowry next month with John Godber’s heart- warming comedy, Our House.
This production brings a cast of TV faces to the Quays theatre. Among them is Dicken Ashworth, much loved for his performances as Alan Partridge in Brookside, Geoff Horton in Coronation Street and most recently as Bob Hope’s father Duke Woods in Emmerdale. Alongside him will be Matthew Booth, also of Emmerdale fame, and Fiona Wass who is a regular on BBC 3’s Grown Ups.
Our House peeks through the keyhole of May who, after living in the same house for 45 years, is packing up her belongings and heading off for a new life in sunny Spain. But she can’t leave without thinking back to all that has happened within those four walls. It’s a touching funny journey through life’s ups and downs, birthdays and Christmases, childhood pets and neighbours from hell!
Established in 1971, Hull Truck Theatre is one of only six producing theatres in the Yorkshire region, and has been providing a range of activities from its Spring Street home since 1983. Throughout its history, Hull Truck has continued to push artistic boundaries as a pioneering force of contemporary British theatre. Touring since 1971, their most recent productions include Bouncers, Perfect Pitch, My Favourite Summer and Ladies’ Day.
