Music at The Lowry

September – December 2008

Amongst those hitting the high notes at The Lowry this season are folk icon John Martyn and celebrated virtuoso of the flamenco guitar, Juan Martín. Michael Feinstein and Diahann Carroll, who worked with Sinatra, deliver the crooner’s classics in their own compelling style. The Lowry also presents three major musicals West Side Story, Our House and Wizard of Oz.

Camille – La Fille du Cirque Irish/French chanteuse who sings the music of Nick Cave, Jacques Brel, Tom Waits, David Bowie and more. Passionate, sexy, amusing and mesmerising.

Spencer Davies and The Animals Original Animals drummer John Steel and keyboardist Mickey Gallagher join Spencer Davies for the 60s hits that made them household names. Times 8pm

Acoustic Strawbs
Thirty years on from classic singles Lay Down and Part of the Union, British musical greats The Strawbs tour with an acoustic line-up.

Sat 13 September
Divinity Sanskrit chants and traditional instruments feature in this collaboration between Indian musicians of the Raga Jyoti and Western musicians from the Halle Orchestra. Times 7pm Tickets £10
