Music Baby!, the dance party for the under-5s, is proving a floor-filler before it even starts. With the first event booked to capacity, North West babies can now take their first steps onto the dance floor on three new dates.
The three hour afternoon party promises to be both educational and fun with DJ’s Mr Scruff and Elliot Eastwick at the helm with a mix of Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Indie, Punk, Reggae, Latin, African, Disco, House and Funk. To a backdrop of visuals, babies will be encouraged to boogie by a dance teacher with specially created games. As well as a buggie park there will also be food and a bar available in a special comfy space.
Gary McClarnan, Scruff’s manager and co-organiser of Music Baby!, commented: “A lot of the fans who got into Mr Scruff years ago now have kids and when The Lowry approached us we thought it would be great to set something up for those ex-clubbing fans and their family. For years teachers have told us they have incorporated Mr Scruff’s music into play sessions at school and that the young ones love the artwork he creates.”
