An audience with Lorna Luft
North West ladies are invited to strap on their ruby slippers and follow the yellow brick road to The Lowry for its FIRST EVER business networking lunch on Wed 19 November. It’s a chance to meet international star Lorna Luft, Judy Garland’s daughter, as she takes a break from rehearsing for The Wizard of Oz.
Lorna Luft’s acclaimed career spans every facet of the entertainment industry. A versatile performer, she has found success as a vibrant concert singer, recording artist, motion picture star, theatre and television actor, best-selling author and producer. And now Lorna is to star as the Wicked Witch in The Lowry’s Christmas musical based on the classic Judy Garland film. This will show at The Lowry from Sat 29 November 2008 – Sun 4 January 2009.
The Lowry’s special lunchtime audience with Lorna Luft will be hosted by one of Manchester’s most dynamic business partnerships, media consultants Ann Alexander and Alistair Macdonald of Alexander Macdonald. Ann, a new member of the Lowry Development Committee, is best known for developing one of the UK's most high profile clinical negligence law firms. Alistair will be familiar to many for his years as a BBC TV reporter based in Manchester. After lunch, Alistair will invite Lorna to share some of her sparkling stories and Hollywood anecdotes.
