An on-line adventure in the Land of Oz
Win a Wii in The Lowry’s on-line adventure
An on-line adventure in the Land of Oz is beckoning on The Lowry website (www.thewizardofozgame.co.uk) with super prizes on offer.
As The Lowry begins its glittering Christmas show, The Wizard of Oz, visitors to its website will get the chance to win a Nintendo Wii by playing an exciting new interactive game based on the show.
A tornado blows the user to the magical land of Oz where they must find their way along the yellow bring road to The Lowry without straying off the path and losing a life. When the player loses all their chances they can’t escape the Wicked Witch.
On-line gamers will be entered into a fabulous prize draw on Mon 5 January 2009. First prize is a Nintendo Wii and game plus a family ticket to next year's Christmas show, White Christmas. Second prize is A Nintendo DS and game plus a family ticket to White Christmas and third prize a family ticket to White Christmas.
Lorna Luft, Judy Garland’s daughter, stars in the all-time classic The Wizard of Oz at The Lowry this Christmas until Sun 4 January. Faithful to the film, the show includes all of the famous songs and characters. Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion, sing We’re off To See The Wizard, Follow The Yellow Brick Road and, of course, the unforgettable Over The Rainbow. A dramatic tornado and a flying witch are among the magnificent special effects as Dorothy and Toto are transported from their everyday, monochrome world on the farm in Kansas, to Munchkin City in the spectacular land of Oz.
The Wizard of Oz game was designed and created by Designate, an award-winning creative agency based in Manchester and Brighton.
