Press Night Events in January 2009
The Lowry welcome in the New Year with a trio of upbeat musicals, beginning with the classic 1940s girl band, Blonde Bombshells of 1943. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Buddy Holly’s death, Buddy the successful rock ‘n’ roll musical, is back on its farewell tour. Finally, Innit, a modern, witty musical, returns after its sell-out success as part of The Lowry’s Salford Season.
Tue 20 January – Blonde Bombshells of 1943 – 7.30pm, Lyric
Packed with toe-tapping tunes by Fats Waller, Glenn Miller and many more, this sparkling and hilarious musical play will have you roaring with delight.
Mon 26 January - Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story – 7.30pm, Lyric
Buddy is back with a new production, presenting two hours of timeless hits sure to have the whole audience rocking and bopping in the aisles.
Tue 27 January - Innit: Urban Musical – 7pm, Quays

Sharp and shiny as razor wire, this production tells of high expectations in a low-life world as Innit returns to Salford’s mean streets.
