In his first live comedy appearance since a stand-up gig at The Lowry in 2000, Phill Jupitus will guest star in the unique improvisational show Totally Looped at The Lowry on Thu 26 February. Direct from Hollywood for the first time ever in the UK, Totally Looped is a hilarious film-themed show featuring some of Britain’s top comedians.

Seasoned stand up Jupitus is a regular team captain on BBC2’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks and frequent guest on QI, Loose Ends and I’m Sorry, I Haven’t A Clue. For Totally Looped he joins a team of top improvisers including cult TV show Red Dwarf’s Hattie Hayridge, the face of the ship’s on-board computer Holly. There’s also one of LA’s original Loopers from HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Joe Liss and Manchester’s own Toby Hadoke, the hugely popular resident act and compere at the Frog and Bucket and Comedy Store and creator of the hit show Moths Ate My Dr Who Scarf. Pippa Evans, nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival’s if.comeddie awards, joins the cream of Britain’s improv talent for this night at the movies.

Already a hugely popular live comedy show in the US, comedians dub improvised dialogue over ever-changing film clips sparked by audience suggestion, as well as playing a range of film-themed comedy games. Originally created by Instant Theater, Los Angeles, Totally Looped is directed by Emmy Award winner Vince Waldron.

"The only thing more fun than having performed with Totally Looped was watching Totally Looped and laughing myself silly!” Dan Castellaneta (The Voice of Homer Simpson, The Simpsons)
