Hull Truck Theatre, one of the nation’s leading theatre companies, return to The Lowry from Tue 14 April with another classic comedy by BAFTA award-winning playwright, John Godber. Sure to be a winner with audiences, Lucky Sods is a satirical and outrageous comedy about a family who have nothing on Friday and £2million on Saturday.

Manchester’s Arden School of Theatre graduate Fiona Wass joins a cast of seasoned Hull Truck favourites. Manchester is home from home for Fiona as she also lived here when filming BBC 3’s Grownups, the show in which she plays series regular Claire.

Lucky Sods follows Hull Truck’s success at The Lowry of Perfect Pitch and most recently Our House. Written by multi-award winner John Godber, Lucky Sods premiered at Hull Truck Theatre’s home venue in1996 before embarking on a UK tour. The original production starred Nick Lane who now returns to direct this production.

Ooh, the lucky sods! Jean and Morris have only gone and won the lottery! But with the pressure of deciding what to do with the cash and jealous in-laws after a slice of the spoils, can Jean and Morris keep their lives from turning upside down? Are the truly all that ‘lucky’? Or is it really ‘a rich man’s world’?
