The lovely ladies of LipService have raided their Greatest Hits back-catalogue to reprise Move over Moriarty which shows at The Lowry for the first time from Wed 13 – Sat 16 May.

When Death stalks the boards of the Strand Theatre, who better to call in to investigate than Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson…

The brilliant, violin-playing, French-knitting master sleuth, only hindered a little by his smaller sidekick, investigates the Garibaldi Biscuit Affair. In this murderous music hall melange, impenetrable as a London pea-souper, they come face to face with a range of characters. These include male impersonator Vesta Curry, Death-Defying Dan and his whelk-infested Tank of Terror, the Musical Motherless Twins and lots more alliterations - truly a three-pipe problem.

Manchester based multi-award winners Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding play an array of characters, moving effortlessly (well, almost) from frock-to-frock coat in their inimitable style. Move over Moriarty has all the well-loved hallmarks of a LipService show, with the added buzz of playing on their home ground.

Gwenda Hughes directs, and the production features original music by the late Mark Vibrans.
