Chart-topping stage and screen superstars, The Tweenies, will be dancing the conga on Friday 15 May at 10.45 am in The Lowry’s first family dance exhibition, Express Yourself.

Children from The Lowry’s introductory dance class, Under 5’s first Steps, will form a conga line with Bella and Milo in advance of The Tweenies performances at The Lowry from Tue 26 May.

Top of the Tots is an all-new music show, packed full of family favourites and includes tot-tastic tunes such as Gonna Build a House, Incy Wincy Spider, Wheels on the Bus and Do the Lollipop. But Milo, Jake, Bella, Fizz and Doodles aren’t the only stars of the show; they want you to get involved in all the fun by singing, dancing and joining in with all the actions.

The family and dance theme extends from The Lowry theatres into the galleries this summer with Express Yourself, The Lowry’s first family dance exhibition, showing until 27 September. From rock ‘n’ roll to Riverdance, Express Yourself offers visitors the chance to launch themselves feet first onto the dance floor, providing plenty of opportunities to get into the groove.

Express Yourself illustrates the hard work, skill, creativity and dedication of some of the greatest dancers and choreographers of the last 100 years. From tea dancing in the 1940s to Northern Soul in the 60s, this exhibition is all about dance - its history, pioneers, on stage and in the streets. Accessible, informative, friendly and most importantly fun, this exhibition provides a menu of moves, telling you everything you should know before you hit the dance floor!

Under 5’s First Steps is a fun introduction to dance with games and exercises designed to educate, stimulate and allow toddlers to explore their creativity through movement, that runs fortnightly at The Lowry.
