Much loved actress Penelope Keith makes her debut at The Lowry in the sharp-edged comedy Entertaining Angels prior to the West End.
Penelope Keith was made for the role of Grace, a clergy wife, who has spent a lifetime on her best behaviour. Now, following the death of her husband Bardolph, she is enjoying the new-found freedom to do and say exactly as she pleases. But the return of her eccentric missionary sister Ruth, along with some disturbing revelations, forces Grace to confront the truth of her marriage.
Penelope Keith became a TV face in the 70’s when she starred in TV series The Good Life followed by To the Manor Born. Her numerous television credits also include, No Job for A Lady, Next of Kin, Moving, Coming Home and Margery and Gladys. Her stage career has included seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company and appearances in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Blithe Spirit, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Regina Monologues, and Good Grief. She has also directed Relatively Speaking, How the Other Half Loves and In Praise of Rattigan.
Richard Everett’s comedy is directed by Alan Strachan and the cast also includes Polly Adams, Benjamin Whitrow, Carolyn Backhouse and Claudia Elmhirst.
