Traces on TV

Sneak preview of new circus on TV’s
Royal Variety Performance – 16 December 2009

The amazing Traces perform their high-energy urban acrobatics on this year’s Royal Variety Performance, broadcast on ITV at 7.30pm on Wed 16 December, prior to their performances at The Lowry next year (Mon 8 - Wed 10 March 2010).

The creators and performers of Traces, Les 7 Doigts de la Main appear as part of this prestigious television programme prior to their first ever tour of the UK.

Traces is a high-energy, dazzling display of urban acrobatics, which combines traditional circus skills with basketball, skateboarding, a mix of street and contemporary dance, traditional theatre, humour and amazing audio visual effects. Set to a soundtrack that includes Hip Hop, rock ‘n’ roll, blues and classical music, this infectious, funky, pioneering brand of circus is a thrill-a-minute that will leave audiences begging for more.

The five ultra-talented performers reveal snippets of their own personal stories throughout the show, drawing the audience in until the dramatic climax leaves them on the edge of their seats, willing them to pull off the seemingly impossible.

After taking the Edinburgh Festival by storm in 2007, followed by sell-out seasons in London’s West End, New York, Paris and Montreal the award-winning Traces comes to The Lowry, just one of the highlights in the venue’s tenth anniversary year. The Daily Telegraph commented ‘They know how sensational they are – and if they don’t, the spontaneous standing ovations they’re getting should do the trick.’
