Convert your knowledge of Salford into prizes at The Lowry
Unlocking Salford Quays Heritage Quiz – Thursday 28 January, 6pm – 8pm
As part of its ongoing Unlocking Salford Quays project, The Lowry is holding a free heritage quiz, from 6pm on Thursday 28 January in the venue’s Hexagon Room. This lighthearted quiz will offer local history buffs the opportunity to swap knowledge for an exciting range of prizes, including tickets to shows at The Lowry.
Alongside the quiz, the Unlocking Salford Quays team will be on hand to chat about the project so far and let people know how they can get involved before the second phase of the project starts in March 2010
Unlocking Salford Quays is a creative community-based exploration of the history of this important site, which will re-discover the disappearing heritage of the area in an accessible, creative and enjoyable way.
Working with a broad spectrum of the local community, who will drive the project, The Lowry is exploring the people, history and traditional industries of the area extracting and representing the stories and traditions it holds.
This project has been made possible by the Heritage Lottery Fund, who awarded The Lowry a first-round pass grant of £40,400 for Unlocking Salford Quays; a project which aims to engender a sense of pride within the local community, as well as providing visitors with an opportunity to learn about the rich history of the area.
The Lowry Centre Trust is a not-for-profit charitable organisation and registered charity (no. 1053962).
