A summer season of dance at The Lowry

A summer season of dance at The Lowry

May – August 2010

The Lowry continues to present the very best in dance during its tenth anniversary year.

The summer season sees Milapfest celebrate twenty five years with three stunning events. Verve return with a new mixed bill and Extra-Ordinary perform a journey of

self- discovery.

The Lowry is also delighted to announce a handful of highlights from our September to December season including a world première from Britain’s national dance company, Rambert. It’s love at first dance when Birmingham Royal Ballet present their lavish production of Romeo and Juliet. For one night only, some of the world’s hottest DJs B-Boys and street dancers mix nightclub vibes with West End production values in Blaze. It’s directed by top West End director and choreographer Anthony Van Laast ( Mamma Mia!, Sister Act) with stunning set designs by Es Devlin (set design for Kanye West, Mika, Take That, Pet Shop Boys and the upcoming Lady Gaga tour). The flamboyant and magical flamenco world of Andalusian dance arrives with Jaleo Flamenco and some of flamenco’s finest award-winning artists.
