DANCING SHOES – THE GEORGE BEST STORY

Dear Journalist,
We would like to invite you to attend the press launch of Dancing Shoes – The George Best Story, a brand new musical telling the turbulent and colourful life of one of the greatest footballers the world has ever seen.
Dancing Shoes was an outstanding success when it premiered at Belfast Grand Opera House last summer, playing to a record 23,000 people in just 3 weeks, it now comes to The Lowry for the English Premiere. It tells the story of ex-Manchester United football legend, George Best. From his childhood days kicking a tennis ball against a gable wall in East Belfast to the height of fame and celebrity. However, the story doesn’t shy away from George’s addiction to alcohol and his ultimate decline.
Join the writers Martin Lynch and Marie Jones who will give you an insight to this fabulous new production, followed by a question and answer session. Cast members Aidan O’Neill (George Best) and Kerri Quinn (Mrs Fullaway/Angie Best) will perform one of the hit numbers from the show before commencing with one-to-one interviews. Also present is football hero, ex-Manchester United player David Sadler who will share his memories of George.
The launch will take place at the Hexagon Room at The Lowry, Salford Quays on Tue 23 August at 12.15pm for a 12.30pm start. Full press packs will be given on the day.
Lunch will also be served at the launch.
