Irving Berlin's White Christmas
The Christmas musical you've been dreaming of is back for 2012!
Thu 29 November 2012 - Sat 5 January 2013
Tickets go on sale today for The Lowry’s Christmas show 2012 which is the return of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, for five weeks only, following a critically acclaimed, record-breaking sell-out run in 2009.
This spectacular stage musical of Bing Crosby’s timeless 1954 movie is brimming with classic Irving Berlin hits like Blue Skies, How Deep is the Ocean?, Happy Holiday, Sisters and of course the unforgettable title song White Christmas. With a star-studded cast to be announced later in the year, an ensemble of over 30 incredible performers and a dynamic 17-piece orchestra, this multi-million pound production is full of tap dancing, lavish sets, beautiful costumes, lots of laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written.
The Times describe White Christmas as ‘A big, glittery greeting card of a show’ and
the Metro says it’s ‘A festive treat, with sumptuous production values to dazzle your senses.’
Another musical highlight at The Lowry in 2012, much sooner than White Christmas, is Wonderful Town – a collaboration between the Royal Exchange Theatre, The Hallé and The Lowry - who combine artistic forces for the first time to present a remarkable fully staged, brilliantly choreographed, brand new production of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein’s Wonderful Town. The three venues, in association with Lee Menzies and Kenneth Wax for Wonderful Town UK Ltd presents Wonderful Town at The Lowry from Saturday 31 March until Saturday 14 April 2012, prior to a UK tour.
