Family Shows
Theatre shows which are aimed at families with young children are clearly listed on the website here. To find out if a particular show that is not in the “children and family shows” section is suitable for your children, contact the Box Office on: Tel: 0843 208 6000 or Email: info@thelowry.com.
Booster seats are available to make your children more comfortable in the theatre, please ask at the Information Desk or Box Office when you arrive.
Family Show Pricing
For most shows we offer either a specially selected children’s price, family tickets or concessionary priced tickets, check each individual show for details.
Family Activities
Activities which are designed for families are listed here. Our family activities are led by professional artists and designed so the whole family can take part; children need to be accompanied by an adult. The stated ticket price only applies to the child or children taking part. Unless otherwise stated, family activities are most suited to children aged 5-11.
Our family activities are really popular so we advise you to book in advance (except for drop-in activities).
Galleries
We welcome families to all of our exhibitions, our Gallery staff are very helpful and always happy to see children enjoying themselves. Should an exhibition contain adult content, it will be clearly labelled. Entrance to the Galleries is free but donations are always welcome to help us to care for and display works from The Lowry Collection.
More information about what your family can enjoy in the Galleries is available here
Toilets/Baby changing facilities
There are baby changing facilities in both the men’s and women’s toilets directly below the foyer at the front of the building. These are most convenient if you are visiting either the Galleries or Lyric Theatre. They are well-situated opposite the cloakroom and buggy-guarding service. There is also a baby change in the accessible toilet on level 2 of the Quays Theatre and on the level 1 of The Studio.
Pushchair
Apart from the theatre itself, the whole of the building, due to its sloping floors and lifts to all levels, is buggy-friendly. However, should you wish to park your pushchair, we have a buggy-guarding service; please ask at the Information Desk or Box Office.
Children’s Meals
Please go to the Children’s Bites section for details.
Gift Shop
Our Family Mascot, Jack has made his mark in the gift shop and your children will love our pocket-money priced souvenirs. We have a range of LS Lowry games and books, plus a great selection of captivating children’s art books. There are loads of exciting gifts and toys inspired by the shows and exhibitions that you can see at The Lowry – take a part of your visit home and continue to inspire your budding young artist, actor or dancer.
