Visitor Insight Manager (6 month maternity cover)

37.5 hours per week, £25,000 per annum plus staff benefits

We are looking for a Visitor Insight Manager to devise and deliver a programme of customer research and evaluation that will inform all areas of The Lowry’s operation, including funder relations, and to be responsible for development and implementation of The Lowry’s CRM strategy. 

The role will require you to evaluate all areas of The Lowry’s marketing strategy (online and offline) and work with the Head of Marketing to make recommendations to evolve the strategy and reporting methodology.

You will work across the organisation to lead, manage, commission and provide qualitative and quantitative customer insight for all areas of The Lowry’s operation to inform strategy, maximise performance and maintain MRS standards. You will be responsible for providing advice and GDPR support to Head of Departments as and when required to help them deliver the GDPR within their own teams.

Strong communication skills, excellent time management and organisational skills and experience of working within a marketing department in an arts organisation are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience of implementing research projects and will have an enthusiasm for audience development.

Director of Learning and Engagement – Maternity Cover (8 months fixed term contract)

37.5 hours per week, competitive salary plus staff benefits

We are looking for a Director of Learning and Engagement to champion and creatively lead a programme that connects local communities, children and young people to The Lowry and its artistic work.  The post-holder will be The Lowry’s strategic lead on all aspects of Learning & Engagement including targeted community engagement; youth talent, work and skills development; formal education and widening participation through outreach.  

As Director of Learning and Engagement you will be an ambassador for The Lowry at a local, regional and national level, ensuring that the strategy and programmes are always responsive to relevant policy and agenda, including supporting the Creative Case for Diversity, and that the work of the Learning & Engagement team connects across The Lowry’s broad portfolio of partnerships.

Excellent communication, networking and leadership skills along with a background in the arts and cultural and/or education sectors are essential. The successful candidate will have an awareness of the issues and challenges associated with engaging with young people and harder to reach groups and will have excellent strategic skills in both development and delivery. A proven commitment to the value and importance of Learning & Engagement within the Arts & Cultural sector is essential.

Please note that this position will require evening and weekend work.

Volunteer for us

The Lowry operates one of the largest volunteer programmes of any cultural venue in the country. It has been an integral part of The Lowry’s Front of House operation since we first opened our doors in April 2000.

The primary role of the VIPs is to provide excellent customer service to The Lowry’s theatre patrons. They act as ushers and fire marshals for the venue’s three theatre spaces, sell programmes and merchandise, provide a cloakroom service and assist in other operational duties as required by the Front of House management team. 

They also act as ambassadors for The Lowry, promoting the artistic programme and our learning and engagement work within their own networks and on behalf of the organisation at promotional events. 

Recruitment for VIPs takes place once a year, usually in the spring. Application details will appear below during that process.
