Raising funds for local primary school children in Salford

The Lowry School Appeal 2018

The Lowry School Appeal

Fundraising for local Salford primary school children

Help us raise funds to deliver free creative arts workshops for over 200 primary school children in some of the most deprived areas of Salford.

Every pound we raise will be doubled by Alison and Noel Copley, founders of The Copley Prize! Our target is to raise £5,000 in six weeks so we can help Salford primary school children to develop their imagination, spark their creativity and bring curriculum subjects to life with professional artists using LS Lowry as inspiration.

The Lowry will deliver half-day workshops in schools across Salford who would otherwise not be able to afford this opportunity. Each school will be trained and equipped to roll out the workshop techniques to other classes. A unique opportunity for schools to benefit from professional artists and receive art materials for their pupils.

• £5 will pay for enough paper for art workshops for one class
• £10 will pay for enough art materials for mixed media workshops with one class.
• £50 will pay for one class to have an exciting 3D modelling workshop, bringing the best of LS Lowry’s work to life!
• £200 – will pay for a professional LS Lowry specialist to visit a school for an entire day of Lowry filled art.

All pupils will have the chance to enter their artwork into The Copley Prize, with the winning creation hung in The Lowry Galleries for a year.

"I thought it was fun and also fabulous. I enjoyed every moment of it! Thank you!" – Keira (pupil)

"The Copley Prize provided us with an opportunity to express creativity and individuality in a fun way, at a time when it has become more difficult to hold workshops like these. Due to the funding cuts in the arts and education, there has never been a greater need for what they provide for the children." – Miss Z. Sowerby, Year 3 class teacher, Moorfield Community Primary School, Irlam
