- Wednesday 8 July 2026
We’re delighted to announce the line-ups for the first two editions of The Blind Guy’s Hosting A Comedy Night showcasing some of the most exciting new voices on the comedy circuit.
The evenings will be hosted by Aarian Mehrabani, an award-winning actor and comedian currently developing his debut stand-up show How’s Your Head?, commissioned by Lowry and heading to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

JOE BIRCH

Joe comes from Botlon and uses a mix of northern charm and relatable observations to create a uniquely funny point of view.
ROSIE WOOD

Rosie Wood is a comedian from London who sees herself among the stars, but has been described by Chortle as "very young and perpetually away-with-the-fairies" (as well as "memorably and sharply written"). Her dry storytelling and unique writing have landed her in the final of Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2025, as well as runner-up in Clap Black to Reality 2025 and winner of Backyard's Comedy Knockout.
GARETH BEAVIS

Physical, intense and silly man struggling with life and a desperate need to be a dinosaur.
ANDY WAINWRIGHT

Andy is an award-winning stand-up comedian currently navigating his approaching 40's - a milestone his family lovingly calls a midlife crisis, though he prefers to treat it as a "rebrand". His comedy draws heavily on self-deprecation, sharp domestic observations, and his experiences as a self-confessed "terrible husband.
His sets frequently explore the hilarious and relatable realities of everyday life, from his spectacular failures at DIY projects to his wife gifting me 52-stone heavy-duty bathroom scales adorned with a whale.
On stage, he is an unapologetic enthusiast for plain, mass-produced white bread and his double-drawer, rose-gold trim Ninja air fryer.
LAURENCE TUCK

Laurence Tuck is a Lancaster based comic who gigs around the North West as well as further afield. He is a quirky and silly character act with dark and twisted undertones. Legendary comic and author of 'Finding Your Comic Genius' said Laurence had "Stunningly original jokes, it's been years since I've seen a new comedian with jokes this good".
RUTH ELLIOTT-SMITH

A woman who loves a challenge, Ruth came into stand-up comedy following her career in journalism and property development. She has since performed at venues in Liverpool and Manchester and recently “Beat the Frog” by surviving a 5-minute gong show at Manchester’s premier comedy club, the Frog and Bucket. She plays golf, loves horses and regularly runs to keep fit. She’s also keeps up her writing skills as an author who has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe. She writes adventure/thriller fiction, has published two novels and is currently completing her third.

JONNY BRACE

AS SEEN ON THE BBC…gameshow Pointless (ssshhh it still counts). Autistic Musical Comedian singing songs and telling stories about various hyperfixations and also, because he can’t help himself, politics!
Finalist West End New Act of the Year 2026
Shortlisted Disabled Comedian of the Year 2026.
LUCY JENNER

Lucy is a bitter Lesbian. She's a real a softie but has a mean edge so be careful because she might bite. She doesn't take herself too seriously so you definitely shouldn't.
EDEN VOSS

On only his 4th gig Eden won the legendary Beat The Frog gong show in Manchester and in his first year of comedy reached the finals of several national comedy competitions.
With his unfiltered and hilarious perspective on the world Eden fearlessly tackles taboo subjects finding the humour in the uncomfortable and the absurd.
“My name is Eden. I’m gay and autistic and I’m going to talk about it…”
ELLIE-MAY GUNN

Ellie-May is a Lancashire based comedian and actor, known for her eccentric (and very autistic) observations of the world. She calls herself a comedy toddler as she is relatively new to the world of stand-up comedy. Away from stand-up she is a huge fan of reptiles - she did not get the maths type of autism.
SYDNEY MAY

Blind, female, 30s, LGBTQ+, no, I’m not just trying to tick diversity boxes, it’s all true.
While I’d rather the blindness bit wasn’t the first thing people notice about me, it would be the elephant in the room if I didn’t mention it. I’m also a musician, big football fan and keen consumer of beer and whisky, but no-one asks about that, even if I’m on the floor, just blame it on the eyes… I didn’t see that bit of flat ground…
CLEMENTINE BOGG-HARGROVES

Clementine Bogg‑Hargroves is (not so) fresh off her 2025 Edinburgh Fringe run and gearing up for new work at EdFringe 2026. She unleashes Shaun Guff - “Yorkshire‑based robustness and sunny charm” ★★★★ (The Scotsman) - in a dangerously stupid seminar brimming with joyful audience interaction. A Times Critics’ Choice (2021), she’s praised for “Winning humour and infectious irreverence” ★★★★ (The Stage), “Infectious wit” ★★★★ (The List) and is a prime example that - “Nothing is perfect” ★★★★★ (Broadway Baby).
JONNY BENNETT

Jonny is a gay musical comedian originally from Stockport who made the bold and original choice to move to London to pursue a career in the creative industries - he recently won Audience Favourite in the 2026 Musical Comedy Awards.
These events are supported by Lowry’s Artist Development Programme and Arts Council England.
Events like this may explore challenging subjects that address sensitive social and political issues and current affairs in a way that some audience members may not agree with or find uncomfortable.
