Basics of Painting
This artist led, hands on workshop introduces pupils to colour theory and painting techniques as they explore mixing colours, using the colour wheel, and experimenting with tools to build confidence and creativity. Each workshop will be adapted to your key stage.

Pupils taking part will:
- Develop a strong understanding of primary colours (red, yellow, blue) and discover how they mix to create secondary colours (green, orange, purple).
- Learn to use the colour wheel effectively to make thoughtful and artistic colour choices.
- Practice basic colour-mixing techniques to expand their range of hues, tones, and shades for their artwork.
- Experiment with adding light and dark colours to explore tone and create depth in their paintings.
- Explore the use of various tools; brushes, sponges, and even fingers to achieve different textures and effects.
- Build confidence in their painting abilities while experimenting creatively with materials and methods.
