Volunteer for us
Our volunteers have been at the heart of the Lowry since we opened in 2000. As one of the largest volunteer programmes of any cultural venue in the country, we are incredibly proud of our Volunteer Involvement Programme (VIP) and the dedication and commitment that our volunteers (VIPs) bring to our team.
Our VIPS are often the first people that our audiences and visitors meet. They help us to provide the best possible experience for everyone that comes to Lowry, helping us make everyone feel welcome and safe. They act as ushers and fire marshals for the venue’s three theatre spaces, selling programmes and merchandise, running the cloakroom and assisting our Front of House Management Team.

Curator of Family Exhibitions
Full-time, 37.5 hours, £33,000 pa, plus staff benefits
Join us in a landmark new exhibition and curatorial role that signals Lowry’s deepening commitment to placing families at the heart of its visual arts offer. This post will shape and deliver a new era of creative visual arts programming for young audiences and their families.
Bar Supervisor
Permanent, 40hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £32,305.00 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for a Bars Supervisor to help lead the delivery of our bar offer across Lowry Bar and Kitchen, theatre bars, confectionery points and cellar operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being present in the operation, supporting the team and keeping service moving during busy pre-show and interval periods.
Coffee Shop Supervisor
Permanent 40hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £32,305.00 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for a Coffee Shop Supervisor to lead day-to-day service in Lowry Coffee Shop and help make it a warm, welcoming and consistent part of the wider visitor experience. This is a practical, customer-facing role with a strong focus on daytime trading, coffee quality and supporting the team through busy and changing periods of demand.
Restaurant and Coffee Shop Manager
Permanent 40hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £36,991.92 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for a Restaurant and Coffee Shop Manager to shape and deliver the long-term success of Lowry Restaurant and Lowry Coffee Shop. This is a commercial leadership role for someone who understands that a strong hospitality offer is not separate from the cultural experience, but an important part of how visitors engage with Lowry before, during and after their visit.
Commercial Duty Manager
Permanent 40hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £32,305.00 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for a Commercial Duty Manager to provide visible, confident leadership across our live commercial operation. Rather than owning one outlet, you will take a broader view across restaurant, bars, coffee shop, retail and events, ensuring people and resources are in the right place and that service remains consistent as demand changes throughout the day.
Event Delivery Manager
Permanent 40hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £32,305.00 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for an Event Delivery Manager to lead the live delivery of events across Lowry, ensuring each one is safe, professional and delivered in line with the client’s expectations. This is a hands-on, floor-focused role for someone who enjoys turning detailed plans into well-run experiences and can remain calm and practical when circumstances change.
Head Chef
Permanent 45hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £40,000 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for a Head Chef to support the Executive Head Chef in leading our day-to-day kitchen operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can deliver consistently high standards across different styles of service, respond confidently to changing operational demands and keep quality, pace and customer experience at the centre of every service.
Chef de Partie
Permanent 45hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £32,846 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for a Chef de Partie to prepare, cook and present food across our varied hospitality operation. You will take responsibility for assigned kitchen sections, working to agreed menus, preparation schedules and service priorities while maintaining consistently high standards of quality, presentation and portion control.
Junior Sous Chef
Permanent 45hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £36,093 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to help deliver consistently high-quality, well-presented food across our hospitality operation. This is a practical role for someone who is confident taking responsibility for kitchen sections, can remain calm and organised during busy service and is ready to take the next step in their culinary career.
Kitchen Porter
Permanent 45hpw (including bank holidays and weekends), £27,976 per annum, plus staff benefits
We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to play an important part in the smooth running of our hospitality operation. This is a practical, active role supporting busy kitchens, catering areas and events by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, organisation and safe working.
Casual Ticket Sales Agent
Temporary: 12th Oct 2026 to 3rd Jan 2027, £13.45 per hour plus holiday pay and staff benefits
We’re currently seeking Casual Ticket Sales Agent to join our dynamic and fast-paced contact centre team. Based on-site at Lowry, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, handling inbound calls and processing bookings using our computerised box office systems.
Learning and Participation Manager
Permanent 37.5hpw (including some evenings and weekends when required), £32,703.06 - £35,179.10 per annum, plus staff benefits
This role will manage the planning, delivery and advocacy of Lowry’s Learning and Participation programmes for children, young people and families. Promoting cultural education and accessible creative opportunities. We are looking for someone with strong project management skills who can manage multiple projects running simultaneously whilst ensuring effective delivery. The successful individual should be passionate about the purposes of this role and an excellent communicator, liaising with a wide range of stakeholders.
Peer Leader
Lowry’s new programme for young adults with lived experienced of 1 of the following: Young Carer, Care-experienced young person, Young person at risk of/ has experienced homelessness, to gain experience of session delivery in the arts sector.
