Unlocking Shakespeare
This 2-hour workshop introduces pupils to Shakespeare by a professional drama facilitator, helping them explore characters, themes, and language while building teamwork, communication skills, and understanding of complex emotions. This workshop can be adapted to suit Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils.

Duration: 2 hours or 4 hours
Location: At the Lowry or in School
Cost: £160/£300 per class (reduced rate available for schools located in Salford and in school prices vary – link to costs page)
Capacity: Max 35 pupils
Pupils taking part will be supported to:
- Understand key themes from a chosen Shakespeare play, such as love, betrayal, power, or friendship.
- Explore characterisation by engaging in role-play and drama exercises that highlight the complexity of Shakespeare’s characters.
- Use drama techniques to express emotions, intentions, and relationships through movement, voice, and physicality.
- Develop teamwork and communication skills, working collaboratively to create scenes and explore ideas.
- Gain an appreciation for Shakespeare’s language, using it to develop creativity and confidence in performance.
